Time Travelling to the Stone Age

Marcel and Nicole set the scene.

Ganges class travelled back in time to the Stone Age when the Alive & Kicking Theatre Group came in for the day last Friday. This was the first time this brand new production, The Cave, was produced in a primary school. With a clever mix of the Stone Age and France in WWII transporting the children back in time, many of them took a turn at playing the role of one of the main characters.

Alive & Kicking transformed our school hall to become a Stone Age cave and the use of shadow images really added to the atmosphere.

The children enjoyed getting into character with the use of a selection of different props. It was tremendous to see the child actors and the other members of the tribe really throwing themselves into the whole day.

The drama built throughout the day with the final scene giving everyone the opportunity to give their views on whether or not the young Stone Age girl, Nala, should be permitted to remain as part of the tribe.
